I started a blog back in 2010 (how can that be 8 years ago?!) to document the DIY projects in our first home. I loved blogging, but when our first daughter was born in ’13, I put the blog on hold. Fast forward another 5 years, another daughter and a rambunctious golden retriever (whom I’m sure will have many funny stories shared on this site) and I’m back to blogging!
As much as I want to dive right in full speed ahead with new DIY tutorials, I feel like a bit more background and explanation of this blog’s purpose will make the most sense as I re-enter the blogging world and welcome (hopefully!) both old and new readers.
The purpose of this blog will be to document many DIY projects that can hopefully be utilized by many other readers in their own homes. I will also document projects that have been hired out, home inspiration for both my own home and online clients (I provide local and online interior decorating). All of these projects will be designed with a classic style in mind, but with a simple (read – not formal or stiff) feeling. That is to say, my decorating approach is one that is timeless – it is removed from time periods and trends. It fits in any locale, any season, and for any age of homeowner. It is pretty, but comfortable so that families and friends are encouraged to get cozy and not afraid to sit on this couch or break that delicate vase. Did I mention one of the biggest goals with my decorating approach is also to do this in the most economical (without sacrificing style) approach possible? That’s where all the DIY tutorials will come in…
I look forward to sharing my journey with you – projects, ideas and dreams for my own home and family that I truly hope will be of great value to all of you out there, as you make your own decorating decisions and plans for your home and family! Happy New Year to you all!!!!
